Tempting Fate (Ron, CJ, Bartlet, G)

"It's at least the whole borough, if not most of the city, Mr. President," Ron stated. Reports were mixed, but merely looking out the window proved the streets were a mess. Residents and businessmen wandered aimlessly. "It doesn't appear to be an attack, but we'll need to get you to safety."

CJ passed her cell of to the President. "Fitzwallace, sir. The outage is more widely spread than the city."

Ron nodded. "We're moving you to the UN headquarters. This building is insecure. They've got a generator."

President Bartlet sighed. "What else can possibly go wrong?"

Then came the sirens.



Saving Grace (Josh, Donna, Bonnie, Ginger, G)

Josh squeezed her hand. "Donna, we need to stop now." She may've nodded, but there wasn't enough light in the stairwell to tell; nor enough to find the floor numbers.

"If we go down to the lobby, maybe we can call upstairs?"

"Josh, what happened to the cell phone?"

At least they couldn't see him blush. "That crack ten minutes ago? That was me dropping it."

"Josh, how are we supposed to find our way out? We should've stayed..."

Donna was cut off by a door crashing open. "Mr. Lyman? We're taking you to UN headquarters," an agent called.



Damage Control (CJ, Ron, President Bartlet, Dr. Bartlet, G)

"Sirens — it's an ambulance two blocks away. When the traffic lights went out, someone wasn't paying attention," Ron reported, moving to stand at the President's shoulder. "We'll have to detour."

"Are any of the hospitals working?" the First Lady demanded.

CJ shrugged. "Most have emergency generators... I just hope the accident wasn't too serious, they'll have to drive through the crowds."

"I'm declaring New York City a federal disaster area," President Bartlet said into the cell. "Fitz, I've got to move."

"Mr. Lyman and various assistants are in the stairwell," Ron said, listening intently to his earpiece. "Time to go."
