Things NBC has taught me
This weekend I'm spending working for NBC for the Democratic debate on Monday 11/24. I spent today in the War Room (that's just a fancy name for the office) finding out that West Wing really got the behind the scenes stuff spot on... I know where the Spin room is... I know what it does... I know how setup goes... and I've learned the following:
-Even Network Producers still crawl around on the floor.
-An NBC Corporate Credit Card gets people's attention and courtesy.
-Your college still matters, well into your thirties.
-There's just as much drinking as in college - and you still brag to your friends about what you did last night.
-Even Associate Producers will cry, after spending many hours on a menial task only to leave the product sitting on the floor of one's office.
-Tech Support rules the world. Were techies to just go on strike, the news networks would fall apart.
