New Years

Well, [livejournal.com profile] piratej posted her resolutions, so now I feel guilty. I will post mine because, well... I will.

I hereby resolve...
1. To continue on my health kick by walking every day and by watching what I eat. Along these lines, I'm going to take the plunge and declare full vegetarianism, to begin January 19th as NBC lunches are not so veggie friendly.
2. To continue my exploration of my own faith, even though my journey no longer takes me directly to ministry.
3. To not dwell on those pesky letters I'm worriedly awaiting and, instead, focus on the fun things: the West Wing class I'm to teach with [hawk], the episodes of Deep Space Nine and Voyager waiting with [livejournal.com profile] johnnytexas, the evenings in the nook with [livejournal.com profile] piratej and [livejournal.com profile] leiascully, nook lunches with [livejournal.com profile] mindmaven and [livejournal.com profile] bessiemaemucho and the rest of my pirates, and fabulous Saturday evenings with [vampire].
4. To make sure I caucus on January 19th and to work tirelessly behind whatever candidate comes out on top.
5. To be more patient about the quirks of my friends. (Stolen blatantly from [livejournal.com profile] piratej
6. To restrain myself from comments about homework, as my anal retentive characteristics have the tendency to make people annoyed with me.
7. To watch a lot of West Wing.
8. To do those things I've planned on doing before the end of my time at Grinnell.
9. To be more secure in my body image. So long as I am healthy, it does not matter what pants size I wear. I must keep in mind that my mother's snide comments do not change the fact that she is, indeed, 2 inches shorter than me and still wears the same pants size.
10. To do a better job of reminding those around me just how much they mean to me.

Ho hum.

Currently getting ready to leave for Des Moines and NBC. But now I'm v. v. bored. Should've gone to Ben's gaming evening... but evil ex was going to be there... errggg. Want to game. Perhaps shall read Neil Gaiman instead. Am v. much considering getting subscription to 1602. [livejournal.com profile] bessiemaemucho, where do you sign up for said subscription? Have no good comic store in Grinnell, grr. Have no good anything in Grinnell. Will miss Target and the Yarnery and Binding Memories when have returned from frozen north to slightly less frozen north.

Have checked status of applications. Still being processed. Aunt Barbara will send Christmas pressie to Grinnell, late, as with Birthday pressie. And have lovely purple yarn for socks. Yay for socks.

Will go continue lovely discussion with [livejournal.com profile] johnnytexas and attempt to keep self from becoming Bridget Jones. Cheers.
