snagged from
julii_wolfe:
Step 1: Get your playlist together, put it on random, and play!
Step 2: Pick your favorite lines from the first 25 songs that play!
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song the lines come from!
Step 4: Cross out the songs when someone guesses correctly! P.S: no cheating and pasting the lyrics into a search engine.
(in doing this, I've decided that far too many of my songs are instrumental or in other languages!)
--1) Angry gods preach a gospel full of hate, blood of the innocent on their hands.
2) Like a koi in a frozen pond, like a goldfish in a bowl I don't want to hear you cry (and apparently, spellcheck makes koi into coy. thanks,
leiascully for pointing that out ;)
--3) They got the mustard out!
--4) The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tennement halls
5) When life was so tender that no one wept except the willow
6) It's when I'm drinkin' I'm always thinkin'
7) Wait - there's no mountain too great, hear these words and have faith - have faith.
--8) If I knew all the words, I would write myself out of here; if I was all the colours, I would paint you pretty in gold in a picture. So I'm told little sister, so now I'm sold, little sister. Why don't you tell me about the sunsets in Sweden, and the laws of Eden, and how you were the rock of Gibraltar
9) Was this lovely song I hear ever heard before?
10) Heaven and hell is a hell of a gamble to lose!
--11) No talk of God, then, we called you a man - and believe me, my admiration for you hasn't died.
12) All the mistakes one life can make, they all finally start to go away.
--13) Our mountains are very pointy, our prairies are not. The rest is kinda bumpy, but man do we have a lot!
--14) No pleasure here on earth I've found, for in this world I'm bound to ramble - I have no friends to help me out.
--15) I care, but I'm restless. I'm here but I'm really gone. I'm wrong, and I'm sorry, baby. And what it comes down to is that everything's gonna be quite alright
--16) a time to dance, a time to mourn, a time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together
--17) There's a whole lot a singing that's never gonna be heard, disappearing every day without so much as a word somehow. I think I broke the wings off a little songbird, she's never gonna fly
--18) Have some of column a, try all of column b!
--19) Loud the winds howl, loud the waves roar, thunderclouds rend the air.
--20) Workin' for peanuts, it's all very fine, but I can show you a better time.
--21) I don't mean to bother you, but I'm in distress: there's danger of me losin' all of my happiness, for I love a girl who doesn't know I exist - and this you can fix.
--22) I believe in you. I'll give up everything just to find you - I have to be with you to live, to breathe
23) At my high school, it felt more to me like a jail cell
--24) Can it be you fear to die? will the world remember you when you fall, could it be your death means nothing at all? Is your life just one more lie?
25) In the beginning there was the cold and the night. Prophets and angels gave us the fire and the light. Man was triumphant armed with the faith and the will that even the darkest ages couldn't kill
