Just a short little response for Abu al Banat.
Length: 138 words
Switch
Light. Dark. Light. Dark. The flickering was starting to drive her nuts. Donna squinted out the window. "Josh? Hey, is the power failing?"
He appeared at her shoulder, reaching to crack the blinds. "No... it's... is that the President?"
The lights turned off and on again. "It's the President and Gus." Donna set down her work. "Oh... he's lighting the Christmas tree... that's so cute..."
"You think the President's cute?" Josh smirked. "Hey, better keep that quiet from the First Lady..."
Donna smacked him. "Josh... for once, will you stop joking? This is about forgiveness, love, all those wonderful holiday season things. Family. Why are you here, shouldn't you be at home, anyway?"
"I'm here," Josh stated simply, "because there's nowhere I'd rather be." He reached over and squeezed Donna's shoulder and, together, they watched the lights dance.
