Agggg! Joss Whedon has lost the funny! I mean, there were several moments of funny in the episode tonight, like Angel and Spike pretending to be my high school gamer friends, but then, WHAM! Fred gets illness that sounds like Ebola, Wesley turns from a man of questionable morals into a complete PSYCHOPATH, and Gunn loses it! I mean, it's bad enough that Knox turned out to be stereotypically evil - I mean, he worked for Wolfram and Hart, he's gotta be evil - but to have Gunn literally bash his brains out!?
Dude, first of all, that's just bad judgement - Knox could've been interrogated for information. Second, Gunn! You idiot! It's YOUR fault Fred got it, and covering up the evidence is only going to make it worse for you when Wesley finally figures it out and smacks your ass down! He's now, apparently, a psychopath, so he's going to blow your brains out! Gahhh! And, thirdly - Gunn, do you REALLY want to turn into a real Wolfram and Hart lawyer? They're more ruthless than you'll ever be.
So Wes lost it and shot a guy in the leg. He asked the guy into his office, then shot him in the leg! Now, I know Wes has been a little... messed up since he got his throat slit and nearly died, and then was almost killed by Angel for stealing Connor... but, dude, Joss. He's morally unstable, he's not psychotic. This is my dear Wesley we're talking about. You can't do this to him!
And now Fred's DEAD, a demoness/goddess who seems to be some weird crossover of Mystique and Storm has control of her body (sound familiar? perhaps a combination of Glory and the First?), Wes is so morally and emotionally unstable that he's totally gonna pull a Willow, and Gunn's hiding evidence!? This means DOOM! DOOOOOM!
