May (Maybe if I Ask Your Dad and Mom)
"This is unusual for us," Mrs. Moss explained while Donna was off changing. "Donna's never brought a boyfriend home before."
"And you're her boss," Mr. Moss said. "It's... unusual."
Josh laughed uncomfortably. "Unethical, you mean? I- I love your daughter; I have since she walked into my office. When she suggested we come out here for a vacation, I couldn't help but take the occasion to ask..."
"Be good to her," Mr. Moss said. "You don't need to ask me. She's her own woman."
Mrs. Moss patted Josh's knee. "When do you plan to ask her?"
"Not yet." But soon.
June (They'll Let Me Take You To the Junior Prom)
Bulbs flashed and blinded Josh. The dinner was his first public date with Donna on his arm, and the press corps took overwhelming numbers of photos. They'd be on every newspaper from D.C. to California, CJ predicted, but Josh hadnt believed. "This is ridiculous," he whispered into her ear. "We've been here two hours."
"They'll be tired of it soon," Donna promised. "Dance with me, Joshua."
Though he couldnt waltz, he took Donna spinning around the floor. He was dazzled by her smile and her dress, and the whispers of the press corps... and, better than any prom, they danced.
