It's been a while. I figured I should check in with those out in LJ land.
I am completely moved into my new apartment. It's huge compared to where I was living last year, but pretty empty still, as I have no bed. I'm using a folding chair as a coffee table. I'll have to remedy that soon, whenever
uzbad can get up here to help. Should all go as planned, he will move up in October to join me.
The new job is good. I'm still in orientation, so thus far my days are full of checking email, reading background material, and doing a few of my mentor's assignments that she can't finish because the whole office is so damned busy right now. Ahh, orienting in crisis mode.
It's been pretty hard to get used to weather here, though. It's always so humid. I know, I expected it - I lived here last year, and the blasted city IS built on a swamp. It just means I prefer to sit inside iwth the air conditioning on rather than go out and DO anything.
Yesterday, I was a big loser. I watched hours upon hours of Gilmore Girls, the West Wing, and Alias and played World of Warcraft while sitting on the couch. One of these days I'll actually go outside.
(... but pasty skin is so attractive, and if I show up to work tan, the coworkers might think I'm not serious enough about crisis mode!)
Also, the rest of my family is in Scotland, lucky bastards.
